The Texas eatery goes big with this lunch and dinner menu item
The Dallas city motto is “Big things happen here,” and that adage is certainly applicable to this week’s Sandwich of the Week, Pier 247’s triple seafood club, which takes its cue from its host city’s zeal for large menu offerings. It’s loaded with housemade shrimp salad, lump crab cake, bacon, romaine, and tomatoes, seasoned with a spicy remoulade and served on multiple layers of sourdough toast.
Pier 247 is new to the Dallas culinary scene, having opened in the beginning of this year, but it didn’t take long for the buzz over this colossal sandwich to hit the internet. In February, Lauren Drewes Daniels of The Dallas Observer made special mention of it in her write up of the eatery, noting the club’s size and deliciousness: “The first bite is the hardest, unless you're one of those people with an unusually large mouth…It's a two-hand situation, and once you start in on it, you won't want to put it down because you'll mess up the balance of the universe.” Just last week, the lunch and dinner menu item scored the number three spot on Zagat’s 9 Best Sandwiches in Dallas list, in which Farah Fleurima called it “an oceanside break from the classic club sandwich.” If the triple seafood club lives up to even half the hype that surrounds it, it sounds like a must-eat for seafood lovers living in or visiting Dallas.

Today I’m sharing a bunch of my favorite seafood recipes for lent!
I wanted to compile some of my favorite seafood dishes here for those of you who observe the lenten season.
While these days, I almost always will opt for a meatless meal itself over fish specifically, I have to say that man oh man and I looking forward to a great fish sandwich this weekend. Last year, shortly into lent, our restaurants shut down so we didn’t get to some of our favorites. We are really looking forward to that this year!
In case you are cooking at home on Fridays, here are a ton of my favorites – the best of the best.
This list is fairly salmon and shrimp heavy because those are the most frequent forms of seafood that we eat. However, many of the dishes can also be prepared with a white fish like cod or even halibut. Love them all!

Coming Soon: Salt Steakhouse
In the coming months, New Jersey restaurateur David Mizrahi will be opening his latest kosher restaurant experience in Long Branch, NJ at the Jersey Shore: Salt Steakhouse.
The steakhouse promises to fill a 5,500 sq. ft. space underneath the The Lofts luxury condos at Pier Village with a trendy upscale steakhouse and lounge. This space will also include a bar, wood-fired oven, as well as a meat-aging fridge.
Salt Steakhouse’s menu will be wide ranging and include steaks, wood-fired flatbreads, fish, salads, and more. Running the Salt Steakhouse kitchen will be Chef Pinchas Frank, formerly of Entree in Lakewood, who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of Jerusalem.
In addition to the dining experience at the restaurant, Salt will be offering locals and vacationers Shabbat meals at any of the local hotels like Wave Resort, Bungalow or the Ocean Place Resort & Spa, all walking distance to Pier Village.
The restaurant will be kosher supervised by JSOR, Glatt Kosher.
